My body of work documents the character of French life, blending the grandeur of its architecture with the candid moments of its people. Shot on a Full Frame Sony A7R4, each image is a 61-megapixel canvas, rich with detail and color. I deliberately employ rich, warm tones and high-contrast editing to create a sense of history and emotion, presenting a world that feels both contemporary and timeless.
The portfolio is a dialogue between the built environment and human connection. I seek out scenes where stately, centuries-old architecture serves as a backdrop for the everyday, from the colorful umbrellas on a beach in Normandy to the classic Haussmannian buildings of Paris bathed in the soft light of evening. My compositions often play with scale, showing towering buildings or panoramic cityscapes alongside intimate portraits of individuals, drawing attention to the unexpected.
A subtle sense of irony often permeates the work. This is a central theme in my photography. It is seen in the contrast between the playful, vibrant balloons in an industrial space, the line of identical ducks on napping on a bench, or the sight of a KFC cup on the morning métro that begs the question "is this person drinking gravy for their morning jolt?" I also capture moments that evoke nostalgia, like a person working on a vintage typewriter or even a self portrait holding a retro film camera. This juxtaposition of the grand with the mundane, the formal with the spontaneous, is at the heart of my artistic practice. My photographs invite viewers to look closer at the world around them, finding beauty, a touch of humor, and a quiet sense of irony in the ordinary.
